I uploaded 24 items the other night and thats not even half of my stock. Im so excited. My friends in Grafton absolutely love the button clips and elastics that I have already in the store. So I cant wait to see what the rest of the world thinks.

I have a separate blog for my etsy shop too. For updates and stuff.

And here is the link to the etsy shop itself. www.shirleyannedesigns.etsy.com

So if you want to see what I have up for sale pop on over to the blog or even better just head striaght over to the etsy shop.

Ruffles.....

I have a thing with ruffles at the moment. Im in love with them but unfortunately I cant wear them. I dont have the body size to pull off ruffles. They just make me look bigger. So here, Ill share with you my favourite ruffle etsy finds of late:

Blue Ruffle Scarf: Flutter

This is the most amazing scarf. Flutter makes the most beautiful ruffled scarfs and other cute tops and accessories. They are made in a wide variety of shades and colours and are so wonderful. Im considering about getting this one for my winter teaching outfits thought it would be cute but might make me look bigger. They are realy cheap too. This one is only 35 dollars (american). So yeah really really thinking about it!!!!!! Might even request one in a different colour. Hmm so many possibilities.

Ruffled Color Number 5: Elizabeth Wren

This is one of my favourite necklaces at the moment. Now this is a ruffle I could wear and get away with. These ruffle necklaces made by Elizabeth Wren are beautiful fine ruffles with buttons sewn randomly throughout the garland. I really love the plaid pattern on the material here. They would be easy to make but pleating and ruffles take forever so its probably better to get the professionals to make you one and pay the $28 (American) for a beautiful piece of work.

Hustle and Bustle Dress: One Hundred Years

Now here is my va va voom dress! Its a twist on the little black dress. Sexy black ruffles.... Mmmmmmm..... I want. But I also want that body. Lol Maybe one day I will get that body and maybe one day I will be able to wear a dress as stunning as this one! I cant say any more than I LOVE THIS DRESS! Go and check out One hundred Years at Etsy. There are only three dresses there, but there are a heap of cute little brooches that are adorable.

Crepe Confections: Paper Panache

Now for slome cute ruffle crafty goodness. Dont you just love crepe paper garlands? I do and this one is to die for! bubblegum pink and white yum yum. This stuff is so cheap and Im really wanting some! But got no money so will have to wait till I can afford some. Paper Panache also holds alot of vintage papers and stamps. You can also ask for custom colour crepe garlands. These would be great for birthday parties considering you can customise to suit your theme.

Lemon Drop Dress: Sarah Seven

Ok so I know I said I loved that black ruffle dress but come one. If I was a skinny chick I would so be in this dress 24/7 oh my gosh in love in love in love. I love bright colours Im not really a black clothing person. So this dress is the one! Sarah Seven has a dozen of beautiful coloured ruffled dresses. Go on over and have a squiz!

Touch Ruffles Pencil Case: Made By Hank

This is adorable. I so want this. Its ruffles and its pink! Yum yum yum. Made by hand has a dozen of these beautiful pencil cases in a variety of colours. They dont have to be pencil cases of course. I could see this one being used as a clutch for a night out on the town! Yum!

Wild Tulip Dress: Stuff By Kate

This is so cute! Love the colours love the style! Love love love. A little short for me but I love anything with a cute ruffled petticoat underneath. This (you can imagine) is a little bit expensive for my price range though. But I still love it! Man love the pink tights too! Want some of them!

Minty Green Jacket: 11tyone

Ok so I can definately seeing myself teaching in this cute pastel jacket. Mmmm and love the cute white ruffles on the collar nice stuff! Wouldnt really consider matching it up with the blouse and skirt picture here (thats what I call way too many ruffles). But I could live with the skirt and top together but not with the jacket lol.
Ruffle Pendant: Amie Plant

Ok so it looks a bit like an oyster shell but its still really cool. I am loving nice simple pendants at the moment. They compliment everything so nicely. They accent simple tops and make more complex clothing look beautiful.

Tuxedo Cherub Clutch: Nelle Hand Bags

Ok so ignore the cockatoo in the background but isnt that blue clutch beautiful? I love it. Love the bright colours and love the look of this clutch. They are quite pricy but so beautiful worth it for a formal night out I say. You can get them in a rainbow of colours. Go and check them out. There are also other styles.

Floral Ruffle Apron: 2021 Leslie

Ruffles? Check! Vintage Floral Print? Check! Apron! CHECK! this ticks all my boxes concerning fashion trends at the moment. These are the three things im in love with and they are all combined into this beautiful apron. In love! 2021 Leslie creates heaps of these cute ruffled aprons in tons of colours at really cheap prices. Go on over and check her out!
Ok I could go on (im only a third of the way through my etsy search) but ill leave that for another day. Hope you enjoyed looking at some ruffle love.

MIA

Yeah I have been missing in action for some time now. I have missed writing on my blog and I feel now that I have gotten over all my illness and have almost organised the kinks in my life that I will be able to share more and make this blog a more personal blog.

I have basically stopped scrapbooking. I have so many supplies and a desk full of stuff that im going to hold onto especially now that im teaching. You never know when I might need something for school. Im still doing a little bit of scrapping. Im still commited the the fabulous ladies at Buzz and Bloom. They are such wonderful ladies and I love the products so much!

I spend my free time (if I have any) sewing and creating handbags and hair accessories. Im opening up an etsy shop (one day) with my handmade creations but that wont be for a while yet.

So here I am, hope you have missed me. Ill try and commit to this blog a bit more and provide you with more inspiration from now on.

I have been creating!

Boy have I been creating!

I have had a blast over the last couple of weeks. I have finally felt like scrapping.

The first couple of photos are of a mini album I did using a fabulous kit provided by Magic Moments Scrapbooks. One day, out of the blue, I recieved an email from Mandy. A lovely girl who had nothing but nice things about me and my work (let me just say I was completely flattered). Then she asked me if I was interested in doing some guest design work for a scrapbook shop in QLD. That just put the icing on the cake I was so excited that a store front store (in QLD) had seen my work and wanted me to do some layouts for them. Of course I agreed and started chatting to the lovely shop owner Shelagh! She is one amazing girl let me tell you! So nice and supportive. Well, things went from fabulous to horrible when I got sick and that meant I couldnt complete the work for the shop and send it off to be displayed in the store. Shelagh and Mandy were really supportive and just asked that when I do complete some work with their fabulous kit that I post it up here and link it to their store website (check, check). So here are the pics.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is a mini album I created using the kit and I just loved how it worked out. To tell you the truth, when I first saw this kit I was like "OH NO! Its light blue, brown and green!" (Im a bright girly girl when it comes to layouts. So I was a bit shocked but now after using the kit I am so impressed with it. Everything in the kit coordinated and the kit was just jammed pack full of unique goodness, alot of things not found on normal scrapshops. The album doccuments a day I spent outside with my puppies and the fabulous time we had together taking photos!

The next layout I created for this months White With 1 challenge. The challenge was to use white, lime green and scallops. This challenge was set by my fabulous friend Kayla! Check out her work sometime its wonderful! Anyways heres what I came up with:

Photobucket

The next layout was another challenge for me. I decided to have a go at a blind scrapping challenge over at the wonderful Scrap Therapy. They are an amazing group of girls over there, so nice and the service in the shop is amazing. I recieved a phone call to inform me that my postage was being changed because the postage option I chose would of damaged my album I purchased. I was so shocked to recieve a phone call from them (I have never had that efficient service from any other scrapstore ever!). Anyways, it was Julie's turn to set the blind scrap challenge. We all had a fabulous night scrapping (with a lot of confusion and question asking)but it was so much fun and I created a layout that is totally not my style but I love it anyways. Here is my Renae/Julie style double layout.

Photobucket

The next layout is one I started out creating for Puzzle Sketch Blog but I didnt use all the puzzle pieces. I got carried away and started using my creativity too much and ended up with this fabulous work. I love it so much, I used one of the KI memories Sheer papers (would you call them papers if they are plastic?) anyways I loved this product so much! Will be using it again soon for sure!

Photobucket

This layout is of my little sis Kayla (well shes nearly 17, little). I love her so much and I am jealous of her in so many ways. She is everything I am not. She is so outgoing has an amazing social life, heaps of money AND AMAZING HAIR! Seriously I would pay a lot of money (if I had it) to get hair like hers. She is so beautiful. She takes alot of her own photos which are always so yummy!

The last pictures are of a present I wrapped and decorated for my Mum's friends 50th birthday party. I have been dying to do something with royal purple for so long and I had some tissue paper just sitting there, so now was my time. I wrapped the box of chocolates in tissue paper, used heaps of pink curling ribbon and created a beautiful handmade card. The card used the doodlebug flocked paper (pink), Kaiser paper (light pink), KI Memories lace cardstock (white) and a ton of prima flowers and Kaiser gems and pearls. There we go wallah! One spunky, funky pressie!

Photobucket

Well thats it from me. I hope you are all inspired now to go forth and create! Have a great night and hopefully I will be back soon with more inspiration.

Love always,
Nae xoxoxo

New Hair, New Photos

Yesterday afternoon I had a quick last minute dash to the hairdressers. I went with the intentions to just get a trim and a brown colour. I left with more then that. I ended up with a really dark (almost black) hair colour. I love it! I love how it looks. Its great because now I can wear darker makeup and it doesnt look bad. Here are some photos I took today to show off the new doo!

I love how much brighter my eyes look with the darker hair. Heheheh it matches my glasses too.

The Sketchbook Project

Im thinking of having a go at this but I was wondering if anyone else wanted to join me in this little adventure?

The go is that you send $21 and then the gallery sends us a moleskin sketch book. You then have till Feb next year to send your sketch books back. These will then be touring around American art galleries. It would be a great way to expose more Americans to what us Aussies can do. I dont think it has to be pencil sketchs, I think it can be anything art crafty you like. I know I would love to do ink and watercolours! How fun oh yeah and add a bit of mixed media in there too.

So who wants to join. I thought we could create a group and share all of our designs as we go and discuss what we are thinking about doing.

Here is a link so you can read a little more about it. If you are going to have a go please tell me because I would love to share ideas and discuss. Im not sure if Im going to do it yet (I havent drawn for years).

The Sketchbook Project

Oh yeah and Ill do a google search and see if I can find any entries from other years to inspire you.

UPDATE: I found a flickr group where the Art House Coop displays photos of their projects. Click here to see some of the photos from the previous sketchbook projects.

Until Later,

I HAVE A FEVER!

FOR HSM 3!

Photobucket

Oh my gosh I cant wait for this to hit our screens early December! I am a big kid at heart. I love HSM 1,2 and 3 WILL be no exception. I have been watching sneek peeks, music videos, candid videos anything HSM 3 at the moment just to satisfy my thirst. Well today I thought I would dedicate a whole post to the wonderful world of HSM.

Here are my 4 favourite characters:

Photobucket

Zac Efron

Oh my gosh not only is he a mega hottie, but his character on HSM is such a sweetheart. He may be a little young (only a couple of years I dont mind being a cradle snatcher) but he is my sort of guy. If I could have my dream guy it would be anyone that has the same body, same looks, same personality, same everything as Zac (not sure what he is really like) or his character Troy Boulton. Yummy! I have to admit his role in Hairspray was also dreamy! I would take a Link Larkin character as well lol.

Photobucket

Vanessa Hudgens

What can I say about this talented little lady. Perfect looks, beautiful hair and boy can she sing! I have both of her albums. The first was titled V and it has a lot of fun pop - y songs on it! and her second album Identified well its rocking my world at the moment (along with the HSM 3 soundtrack). My favourite song on that album at the moment is Identified actually all the songs are amazing and if you like girly pop happy music I suggest you get the album and dance and sing away. I dont know its something about her music that makes me feel beautiful and wonderful like nothing else in the world cares when Im singing her songs! Mum hates her girly little giggle and laugh and I hate her because she is dating Zac Efron (jokes) BUT she is truely amazing!

Photobucket

Ashley Tisdale

Another amazing singer, another girly girly sing songstress but remember I love that stuff. Ashley only has one album out at the moment but also has amazing songs! I love it! The album is called Headstrongand the song with the same title is simply genius (well maybe not genius but you get the picture). She is so beautiful and amazing! Her character on HSM Sharpey is so mean and is a little rich spoilt brat but in contrast, her character on a Disney Channel show The Suit Life of Zac and Cody is really nice and poor. From watching these two different characters for a long time I have come to the conclusion that Ashley Tisdale is not just a fabulous singer but an amazing actor.

Finally,

Photobucket

Corbin Bleu

Man can this boy dance! He is one of the most talented dancers I have seen! Not to mention he is also a hottie. I am a sucker for a big afro hairstyle. Mind you on some guys its sexy on others its disgusting. If you ever have the chance to see HSM (any of them) watch this boy dance, simply amazing. Such a natural. He is so cool so spunky so good looking! More eye candy! Mind you this picture doesnt do him justice.

Anyways now that I have blah blahed on about some complete hotness and talent, I thought I would post some of my favourite HSM 3 clips at the moment. So here we go:

Can I have this Dance

This film clip, song and dance is so beautiful. Its putting a spin on the traditional waltz. Its so pretty and graceful. Great stuff! Makes my heart flutter!

A Night to Remember

Ohhh brings me back to the time when I was getting ready for my high school formal. I wish I could go back and get all dressed up again.

They Boys are Back

This is where the boys dance moves really shine! Too bad the movie clip is really bad quality. Since its not a publically released music video its just recorded from somewhere I dunno but I think it has something to do with the quality. Its a great song about the boys playing like in the old days, playing warriors and sword fights and all that jazz. Quite cute. In the clip you actually see a mini Zac and Corbin they are so cute! Enjoy!

I Want It All

Love the way these two really act like brother and sister. It just seems like a natural connection. Once again I love the character played by Ashley Tisdale, so mean, so spoilt, so beautiful. Thats why I love this music clip.

Anyways I think I have HSM-ed you all out now and you will probably want me to shut up and never utter those words again (so unlikely).

I went on a photography excursion today. Only a short one (about an hour) but I got some great photos and I will share once I have edited them.

I also did a bit of scrapping for The Boxx Girls Night In on Friday Night. I had a great time chatting with the girls and scrapping.

Oh well have a good night guys,

Memory Mist Smooshing Technique

Hey there,

I know there are a few people out there who use Memory Mist. If your not sure what it is, it is a pigment ink in a spray bottle. It is great for applying colour to chipboard or just your plain PP or CS. Anyways, I have had a couple of bottles for a while and I love using them. I love spraying them onto masks and getting some great effects.

So why am I annoying you and telling you about another fantastic product? Only because I have been youtubing today and found a great new technique to use them with. It is so cool that I just want to go out and buy some tags now and have a go. Now the tags used in this demo are not just cardboard tags. They are the glossy covered ones. This allows the ink to dry slower and you can apply the ink and then play with it a little bit. Looking at this makes me want to make all the christmas tags the same way this year. It will never happen.

Anyways here is the video enjoy. I have just totally lost my train of thought. Mum walked in and was talking to me now im so confused I dont know where I am up to. Anyways gotta go.

P.S. if you create any of these tags or other art work using Memory Mist, leave me a link here so I can have a sneeky peeky.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Im also loving these chipboard albums, Im not sure of the size but I love the engraved look. Its just asking for me to colour them in in my bright Sharpie Pens and Memories Mist.

Photobucket Photobucket

Im loving the beaded curtain pattern found on alot of the new Buzz and Bloom products! It screams a little christmas but can be added to anything.

Photobucket

Love the retro pattern in these ones too. Of course these come in 11 colours they arent all this toxic orange so these would also suit any page.

Photobucket

Oh my gosh just loving all these little bits and pieces. The car is super cute. Something that hasnt been done before so thats cool.

All of the acryllic products come in 11 amazingly bright and playful colours (which is a bonus for me!). Here is a list of the colours.

Blueberry
Bottle Green
Bubblegum
Dayglo Orange
Fluoro Green
Fuchsia
Gloss Black
Grape
Lacquer White
Neon Pink
Ruby

Dont they just sound delicious. Of course you can find more out about these new acryllic and chipboard products at the Buzz and Bloom Blog.

Ok thats alot of blogging for me (two post in one day can you tell Im bored). Might do another post later with some fashion things im loving at the moment. We will see how I go.

Anyways have a great day,

Longest OVERNIGHT stay of my life.

Wow well, Im back and barely moving.

I went into hospital last Thursday for a simple Gall Bladder removal or lapcolli as they call it. The operation should of lasted 1 hour but instead I was 2 and a half hours in surgery then another 3 hours in recovery trying to get blood for a blood test. All my veins collapsed and in the end they had to call down pathology to milk literally push and milk blood from my thumb. The next day I woke up with a drain bag and four small cuts. I was incredibly sick vomiting and feeling very sore and sorry. In the morning my surgeon came in and said I was one lucky girl. My girl was completely stone hard (usually soft) full of stones and producing puss instead of bile. She said I should of had that thing out years ago. I only discovered I had gall troubles 2 years ago. Anyways then she tells me I have another 5 -10 stones stuck in the main bile duct (just 1 stone there is considered completely dangerous) and I would need another surgery in Lismore (1.5 hours away) to remove them. If they arent removed they could go into my pancreas and potentially kill me. So here I am already sick and having to go to Lismore to have another op. I was only supposed to be in one night, working the next week.

Get to Lismore have my surgery and find out they cant remove one of the 5 stones they located in my bile duct. It was really square and tight. It has to be removed! So now I have a splint up beside the stone trying to make room for it to move as well as taking dangerous tablets (very expensive 200 dollar tablets) to try and make it smaller before the next surgery in three weeks. Man Im scared.

So I came home on Tuesday (did you miss me?) and Im feeling sore and sorry for myself. I go to get my drain removed on Wednesday and OH MY GOSH! I have NEVER experienced pain like that. I have never screamed so much in my life. If you ever have to have a fluid drain after a surgery expect more pain. I screamed and screamed and screamed. I felt like my intestines were being pulled out of a small half a centimetre hole. Gut renching horrible pain! Has anyone else experienced this? Anyways now Im at home recovering getting over my stitches and holes and splints and pains. I have no inspiration for scrapping but I have so many new papers and supplies. I just want to create but cant.

Anyways just thought I would type in here to tell you where I have been, Why I havent been talking and what I have been up to! How about you whats been happening over the past week. It seems like an eternity since last Thursday and I have developed such a greater tolerence to pain since then. Im glad the worst (touch wood they can get the next stone out if not thats worse) is behind me and I can start to think about other things.

Things I am loving at the moment!

These are the things I want, I love (I need to save up to buy lol) at the moment:

Photobucket

Photobucket

I love the look of these new perfumes bottles produced by Gwen Stefani. I have always loved the fact that she shares the same love of Japanese culture as me. It is such a cute bright playful culture and she illuminates that in her performances, dancers and franchises she develops. Love her stuff!

Another thing I have to have is the new Ipod Nano 8g. My old Ipod mini (the original mini) died last year after 4 wonderful years of supplying me music. So its time to get a new one. I cant wait to get it. Of course it will be the pink one!

Photobucket

No scrapping at the moment but Im working on my christmas cards and the special items for a Guest DT spot for a shop in QLD. If any of you lovely ladies are reading this I am sorry I havent gotten back to you but I have been really really sick and have done much at all these holidays. I hope to get onto this asap.

Have a great day everyone!

Christmas Cards

Yes I know its only October and Yes I know its a little early for Christmas cards.
Every year I go out with the idea that Im going to make everyone christmas cards and send them out somehow, every year they never make it to their owners. This is usually because I havent made enough and I can never decide who get them. So since today is World Card Making Day, I thought I would start making my Christmas cards.

I took my idea from the site Pursuit of Craftiness. It uses the online program Wordle (yeah the sensation that gripped the scrapping/blogging world only a couple of months ago) and christmas words to create original messages for Christmas cards. Here are the examples from the blog:

Photobucket

Photobucket

And heres the card the was created using the above Wordles:

Photobucket

So I made my own:
Here is the Wordle I created for my cards:

Photobucket

And here is the one that I made for the family cards:

Photobucket

So theres my start to Christmas cards. I think I might spend some time this afternoon playing around with some printouts to make my own cards.

Have you thought about your Christmas cards yet?
Are you making them yourself?
Tell me about them?
Post on your blog and send me a link. Would love to see everyones different ideas for christmas cards.

Ok two posts in one day I think Im going to fall over.............
Hope your Saturday has been as relaxing as mine.....
Love always,
Nae xoxoxo

Well the dreams over,,,,,

Well I may be over dramatising a little bit. Heheheh!

I have peen taking part in a fun little (when I say little I mean big!) competition over on an american kit store known as Bad Girls. I made it through three weeks of challenges up against some very talented scrappers from around the world. So here are my three layouts from those weeks.

Week 1 - Layering

Photobucket

The photo is of my friend Kate. She and I were being goofballs around SPOTLIGHT one day and look heaps of photos in their dress up department. For this challenge we had to layer atleast two different elements on your layout.

Week 2 - Pattern Combinations

Photobucket

This one is of my cute little pup TROUBLE. He just sat around the tractor tyres one day and started posing so I had to snap it up lol. For this challenge we had to use 2 or more patterned papers.

Week 3 - Less is More

This was my undoing - I cant do simple layouts. Mind you I put it off and had to take a really crappy afternoon lit photo (which didnt help my cause) but oh well heres the dud!

Photobucket

Speaking of duds! Here is a layout I created for this months Color Story Competition but I didnt enter it because I hated it. I was so over it. It looked perfect with just the woven paper and the picture frames then I spoilt it with the massive lettering and journalling.

Photobucket

Anyways, Have a great day, Im in bed with the flu trying to get over it before I have to work tonight. So have fun and I promise to blog very soon!

Nae xoxoxo

I've been missing

I've been busy
I've been sick
I've been teaching
I've been scrapping
I've been spending
I've been working
I've been sleeping
I've been hiding

Thats about all I have been up to really not much there.

Anyways just thought I should post back in.

Just finished up a fabulous competition over at Scrapbook Shelf. The competition was to win a MM Slice. It went for 6 weeks with 5 challenges. Even though I didnt win or come second or third, I won a 20 dollar voucher which I am jumping up and down about. So now I can go and spend away.

Im now sitting around with nothing to do, SO I went and found another competition to do. I dont know its something about the direction and the different challenges you get to do. I dont do themfor the prize and I never expect to win. I just do them for the inspiration and the fun! Anyways this one is an American comp and its set up as 6 mini classes, teaching you new technique or idea and then letting you apply it to your own layouts. It doesnt start for another week yet but I cant wait to get into it. The site is Bad Girls Kits if anyone is interested.

On that note ASM has been going slow lately. I have realised that things need to change and they will so starting from TOMORROW! the new clip will go up, the lyrics on Tuesday and then all winners announced on Wednesday! From then we will display the DT work and display the entries weekly with updates to the blog and slideshow gallery as well. I will also be having 2 participation prizes for 2 lucky people, so anyone can win. We also have our three prize packs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place still there as well. Next months clip is amazing so you dont want to miss out on that one! Its my birthday this month as well so look out around the middle of the month for a blog giveaway on ASM and here!

Ok so to finish up, here are some of the last layouts from the Slice of Life competition over at Scrapbook Shelf, ENJOY!

This mini album used a combination of MR chipboard and sheer tabbed albums to amke a massive mini album. I also used the new Rose Moka papers which are so bright and yummy.

Anyways have a great night guys and girls,

Love always,
